Your half-frame film, put back together.

One lab scan holds two photographs. Half-Frame Joiner splits them apart, then lets you rejoin any two into a print-ready pair — right on your iPhone.

How it works

Four steps, start to print.

Half-frame cameras fit two exposures where a normal 35mm frame goes. Labs scan that as one wide image with a dark strip down the middle. Here's what the app does with it.

1

Pick your scans

Choose the half-frame scans straight from your photo library — JPEG, TIFF, HEIC or RAW.

2

Split automatically

The app finds the film divider and cuts each scan into its two real photographs, at full resolution.

3

Rejoin any pair

Tap two frames — from the same roll or different ones — and see the join instantly. Pan, zoom and rotate to taste.

4

Save for print

Compose to 4×6, 5×7, or the original ratio, then save back to your photo library and send it to a lab.

Built for film

Details that matter to photographers.

  • Splitting is lossless — frames are cropped from the original scan, never resampled.
  • The black divider is recreated the way film looks, not pasted in as a hard line.
  • Exact print ratios so a lab won't crop your photographs unexpectedly.
  • Export single frames on their own, or joined pairs, as TIFF or JPEG.
  • Tap any frame to see every join it appears in.
  • Manual split and straighten for the scans that need a human eye.
Privacy

Your negatives stay yours.

No accounts. No servers. No tracking.

Half-Frame Joiner makes no network requests at all — it works in Airplane Mode. Your photographs are read and written only on your own device, and nothing is ever collected or transmitted. Read the full privacy policy.
