J-Card Studio is a personal-use design tool. The cards and labels you make are for your own tapes — not for resale. J-Card Studio Pro is a 7-day free trial (up to 10 printed cards), then $2.99 per month, billed to your Apple ID. Cancel anytime before the trial ends to avoid being charged.
J-Card Studio is provided for your own personal, non-commercial use: making inserts and labels for cassettes you record for yourself or give to friends.
You may not sell, offer for sale, mass-produce, or otherwise commercially distribute any card, label, image, or PDF you create with J-Card Studio that incorporates album artwork, photographs, song lyrics, band names, logos, trademarks, or any other material you do not own or are not licensed to use. This restriction exists because that material belongs to its rights holders, not to you and not to us.
If you own or have cleared the rights to everything on a card — for example, your own band's music, your own photographs, and your own artwork — nothing in these terms stops you from doing what your own rights allow.
J-Card Studio and Optimized Machining LLC are independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to Spotify AB, Apple Inc., or any record label, publisher, artist, or other rights holder.
Spotify is a trademark of Spotify AB. Apple, Apple Music, iTunes, AirPrint, iPhone, iPad and App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc. All other trademarks, album artwork, cover images, and song lyrics remain the property of their respective owners. Where the app retrieves such material at your request, it does so only to help you identify your music and lay out your own card.
When you ask it to, J-Card Studio retrieves publicly available information directly from third-party sources: Apple's public iTunes Search API for album details and artwork, the public page of a Spotify playlist link you paste, LRCLIB for lyrics, and Wikipedia for background notes. Optimized Machining LLC operates no server for this app — we do not copy, cache, host, or redistribute any of that material, and it passes straight to your device.
Your use of material obtained from those services is subject to each service's own terms and to applicable copyright law. Those services are outside our control and may change, restrict access, or become unavailable at any time, in which case the related feature may stop working.
Optimized Machining LLC grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use J-Card Studio on devices you own or control, for designing and printing cassette J-cards and labels for your personal use as described above. You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense, or reverse-engineer the app.
Everything you create in J-Card Studio — designs, artwork, lyrics, and notes — belongs to you and stays on your device. We don't collect, store, or have any access to it.
You are solely responsible for the material you put on a card and for what you do with the result. That includes making sure you have the right to use any artwork, photograph, logo, lyric, or other content you import, upload, print, or share, and making sure your use complies with copyright law and with the terms of any service the material came from. We have no way to review what you create, and we do not do so.
If you believe material reachable through J-Card Studio infringes your rights, contact us at joseph@optimizedmachining.com with enough detail to identify the material and your claim. We respond promptly. Note that the app stores nothing on our side — it retrieves public information from third-party services on the user's device at the user's request — so claims about the underlying material generally need to go to the service hosting it.
J-Card Studio is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't guarantee the app will be error-free, that third-party services it connects to (iTunes, Spotify, LRCLIB, Wikipedia) will always be available or accurate, or that printed results will be free of defects.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Optimized Machining LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including wasted materials, printing costs, or lost designs. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Optimized Machining LLC and its members from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of material you import, upload, create, print, sell, or distribute using J-Card Studio, or out of your breach of these terms.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated terms. The current version is always posted on this page.
